2006-12-15 » Ionflux Object Base System (ifobject) 0.0.1 released!

The Ionflux Object Base System, version 0.0.1, has been released! This is the initial alpha release of the Ionflux Object Base System, which is a part of the modular re-implementation of the Ionflux Tools Class Library. It provides basic features common to all objects, such as run-time type information, properties, memory management, multi-thread synchronization, sigc++ based events, marshalling, message reporting and logging and a generic call mechanism for operations. See the projects section for more information.

2006-11-17 » New section: Stuff/Code Snippets

I have added a new section called "Stuff" to the homepage. This section contains anything that doesn't fit into another category. Currently, there is a subsection called "Code Snippets", also new, where I will publish some short snippets of source code (mainly C++) which I use regularly. If you find some of this code useful, you can use it in your own projects. See the "Code Snippets" section for an overview of the material already available and detailed information. And there is even more to come!

2006-10-03 » New image gallery: Paris - La Défense

I have just returned from a trip to Paris, France over the weekend. I have added a gallery of La Défense in the images section. It's worth taking a look, at least if you are interested in awesome modern architecture. :-)

2006-08-08 » Project section updated

I have updated the project section with information on my latest software projects. After a few months of experimenting, I have decided to re-implement some features of the Ionflux Tools Class Library using a much more modular and self-contained approach. I also plan to address important open issues such as consistent automatic memory management, thread support and signals. This library is intended to be quite small and devoid of any unnecessary bloat to form the foundation for some other projects I have been planning. I have started by changing the repository layout and putting up a specification for the new library. There is also information available on Graph Alignment, a software project I have been doing recently at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of Cologne.

2006-08-04 » ionflux.org has a new design!

Ionflux.org now has a completely new design. I hope you like it. :-) Yet again, thanks to the developers of Inkscape and GIMP! The improvement in the most recent versions is quite amazing. It is always fun to work with this software and to see how it gets better with each new release.

2006-03-15 » New website launched!

The new ionflux.org website has been launched! Finally, after several attempts that were abandoned after a short time, I have managed to actually put something online here. :-) For now, I have added information on my two "most publicly available" projects, iftools and Xegity. There are descriptions available in the projects section.
